AS POSTED HERE ---> Bomb twist to tree man saga - The West Australian
The Thornlie tree man saga has escalated, with a neighbour claiming two bombs were set off outside her home opposite Richard Pennicuik's doomed eucalyptus melliodora.
Police have confirmed they are investigating the discovery of two Molotov cocktail-style devices that exploded at the Hume Road property. Both devices were fitted with fuses that allowed the people who set them to escape before they exploded.
The devices were detonated outside the home of Paula Nicholson, who said residents had been living a nightmare since Mr Pennicuik started his protest to save the tree from City of Gosnells tree loppers about five months ago.
Ms Nicholson said the first was detonated outside a lounge room window about 1.30am on April 22 and the second exploded on the bonnet of a family car about 12.30am on April 26.
Mr Pennicuik refused to comment.
