WA's building watchdog has fined Queens Park developer Ferhan Developments $5000 for negligence after the company hired an unregistered builder to renovate a Fremantle chocolate shop.
The company, under management of director Chrishan Fernando, won a $236,158 tender and was issued a Fremantle council building permit to complete the fit-out in November 2017.

WA is in the middle of a $4 billion spending splurge on public transport, but commuters are increasingly turning away from buses and trains and choosing cars as the fastest, and cheapest, way to get around Perth.

  • Commuters complain buses and trains take longer and are pricier than cars
  • Experts say billions spent on new roads discourage public transport use
The State Government has committed to spending billions on its Metronet project over the next few years even though patronage on public transport has declined year-on-year since 2014-15.

Police concern for missing man who walked out of St John of God Midland


UPDATE MONDAY AM: Missing man Leonard Wilcox was found last night and has been returned to hospital.
He was located on Bushmead Road, Hazelmere, about 8.30pm Sunday, a police statement said. Police thanked everyone for their help after Mr Wilcox left St John of God Hospital Midland on Saturday morning.
