Gosnells girl to appear in new 90210

as posted on TheWest

Former Perth girl Chantelle Barry is set to appear in the new Beverly Hills 90210 spin-off.

Barry, from Gosnells, shot to fame for her part in Channel 7’s Popstars, where she was one of five winners that formed girl band Bardot.

Barry left the band – which launched Sophie Monk to stardom – two weeks after it was formed to pursue a solo singing career.

The new 90210, described as edgy and contemporary, looks at life through the eyes of Annie Wilson and her brother Dixon who have moved to a new West Beverly Hills High School where their father is principal.

The siblings have to cope with clique groups and new classmates, in particular spoiled, rich girl Naomi.

Barry plays Nina, a friend of Naomi and while she only appears in the first three episodes of the series her role might be extended.

The show debuts on Channel 10 on September 8.

Fitness Track at Harmony Fields

as posted on COG Site

City of Gosnells residents can get a free gym workout thanks to the new Harmony Fields fitness track and outdoor gym.

One of only two facilities of its kind south-of-the-river, the Maddington fitness circuit gives people all the benefits of a gym membership at no cost.

There are eight workout stations – each designed to provide resistance training to different parts of the body. There’s a cross-trainer, rowing machine, stepper, cycle seat, shoulder press, ab-hip swinger, butterfly press and Ezy Rider.

Set in the nature reserve next the Harmony Fields sports complex, the outdoor gym is part of a larger fitness circuit, which also features a 400m circular track and 1.6km walking and jogging path.

Both are 3m-wide and made from recycled concrete material and there are regular rest spots around the jogging path, which is ideal for people who want to gradually build up their fitness levels.

There is instructional signage at each exercise station, however residents who want to learn more about the equipment or are keen to exercise with other people are encouraged to join one of the City’s fitness groups.

Group leaders will demonstrate how to use the equipment, as well as offer encouragement and an opportunity to get to know more people in your community.

The project was funded by the City of Gosnells and Maddington and Kenwick Sustainable Communities Partnership, which is a joint initiative between the City, State Government and local community.

The Harmony Fields sports complex and fitness track is at Alcock Street, in Maddington and there’s free parking, public toilets and lighting.

For more details or to find out about joining a fitness group, contact the City’s Leisure Services office on 9452 9901
