School director facing fraud and stealing charges

The director of a Muslim school, which was closed down by the State Government last year, has been charged with fraud and stealing.

Police allege the 50 year-old falsified grant applications between 2005 and 2007, to secure more than a million dollars in funding for the Muslim Ladies College in Kenwick.

It is alleged he also stole more than $350,000 while he was the director of the school.

He has been charged with a number of offences under State and Commonwealth law, including stealing as a director of a company and making false statements in an application.

He due in court next month.
