WA bikie Troy Mercanti found guilty over Como pub brawl caught on camera

Troy Mercanti, a well‑known WA bikie and senior Mongols figure, has been found guilty of fighting in public and damaging property after a brawl at The Como Hotel.
The incident happened in April 2025 and was captured on CCTV, showing Mercanti attacking David Morris, a rival club member, in the pub’s alfresco area.
The fight lasted around 20 seconds, damaging a glass panel and two doors. The confrontation continued into the carpark.
Mercanti’s lawyer argued self‑defence, claiming Morris threw the first punch, but the magistrate rejected this, saying Mercanti had the upper hand throughout.
The magistrate also found Morris to be an unreliable witness, despite text messages showing he had previously threatened to fight Mercanti.
Mercanti was fined $2500. When asked how he would pay, he replied: “With money,” noting that no bank will give him an account.
Dressed in the Mongols’ unofficial black‑and‑white attire (due to WA’s bikie insignia ban), Mercanti told reporters: “We won the fight didn’t we?”
He has also attempted to pay the $855 in damages to the pub.
