Miss Challinger Presents Professional Learning to South Metro Teachers

At the recent South Metro Schools Professional Learning Day at Murdoch University, CVC Circus Teacher Miss Challinger presented to a number of Arts Teachers from across the South Metro region.

The presentation 'Transforming the Classroom' outlined the ways in which Miss Challinger structures her classes to be student centred and authentic with a focus on what is referred to as ‘soft skills.’ These include cooperation, empathy, collaboration, and problem solving. Miss Challinger breaks these down in to learnable chunks starting in Year 7 and developing student abilities in these areas as they progress through high school.

The presentation was well received by those in attendance, with many of those present taking time to talk further to Miss Challinger at the end of the session.

Meet at Addie Mills Centre and travel as a group to Kings Park.

Enjoy a light morning tea before taking in the vibrant colours of Western Australia’s native wildflowers in this engaging and informative 5km guided tour through Kings Park.

This walk is suited to participants with a moderate level of fitness.

After the tour, participants will have the opportunity to buy lunch at their own expense from the Como Hotel.

Bookings will be taken from Monday 19 August.

Sadly, on June 5, 2019, at the age of 92, Albert Raymond Monnery (Gosnells, Western Australia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 11th 2019 at 1:30 PM at 175 Corfield St, Gosnells WA.

Purple Bra Day - Gosnells Bowling Club

Visit site for more information Saturday 22 June will see the greens turn purple for the IGA Purple Bra Day. Bras will be available (in all shapes and sizes!) for $5 hire. If you choose not to wear one, the fee will be a $10 donation to the Cancer Council of WA. A purple bra bucket is on the bar, so let’s fill it up before the event. The winter series any combination pairs 2x4x2 will begin at 1pm, so remember names in by 12.30 pm. Cost is &10 per player and dress is mufti. Wear purple if you can! Wear your purple bra with pride to raise vital funds and awareness to support Western Australians affected by breast cancer. Let’s make the event a winner.

Prison officer embroiled in drug trafficking conspiracy breaks silence

A highly-decorated prison officer - snared in an elaborate drug trafficking conspiracy - has spoken for the...

The prisoner was chasing organised crime connections to import drugs and Hardingham, who had received a bravery award after being stabbed in prison, fell deep into the trap.

Undercover police officers posing as drug trafficking financiers and distributors contacted Hardingham off the back of his discussions with the prison inmate.

Hidden cameras and microphones were placed in Hardingham's Thornlie home and car and captured meetings held to discuss the type and quantities of drugs.
