New Australians come together in Gosnells
A range of new arrivals to the City of Gosnells came together in Centennial Pioneer Park today to meet and learn about their City.
The event, organised in cooperation with Centrecare, encouraged new migrants to meet other people who have recently moved to Australia and introduced them to some of the services available in Gosnells.
“This was a great way for people who have recently moved to the area to meet other people who are experiencing the same adjustments and to find out what services the City can offer them,” said City of Gosnells Mayor Olwen Searle.
“I think a lot of people made some great connections. When you move to a new area it’s really important to meet people who live near you and I think this event helped people to do that.
“We’re really proud of the cultural diversity in our City and this is a great way to help make settling into our City easier for people,” said Mayor Searle.
The event included kids’ activities, music and entertainment, a sausage sizzle, information displays and a soccer competition.
