  1. the new cat laws in WA are ridiculous, yes I agree with sterilisation for cats, they can breed like rabbits ; ) but micro chipping, what's that for, and on top of that they have to wear collars, how hard is it to get a cat to keep it's collar on and if it is micro chipped why a collar and tag, just can't wait to see the ranger chasing a cat, good luck with that, why don't dogs have to be sterilised also and micro chipped, our local Council "City of Gosnells" still has not put any official announcement word out, yet they have had two years to prepare, sorry Cat Haven I think this is a bit of overkill, no pun intended, better to chase down bad owners not attack responsible owners, council are always looking for a an excuse to victimise, next thing you know they will be a fine for a cat up in a tree "aka the tree man of thornlie" and if they catch a cat that is not tagged or not wearing a collar how do they prove it is yours, the only way this law will work is if they come into your house and seize the cat, just another revenue gathering exercise from an unconstitutional institution, but yes I hope it reduces the number of unwanted cats but I feel it will be more negative than positive ---> as posted on Cat Haven Facebook page
